Hi there! Im Maya. I've been a licensed cosmetologist for 5 years. I've worked with multiple luxury spa and salon brands in the DC and NC Metropolitan area as a technical teacher and studio operation manager before I decided to transition to the floor.
I started Wax Hideout with a desire to build a brand that always has our guests in mind.
As a female venturer, it is important to me that The Hideout existed as a private and safe space where people of all backgrounds could come to feel restored. We live in a busy world where burnout and hustle culture is worn as a badge. I wanted this studio to be an invitation to slow down and be more intentional.
Now more than ever, I'm learning that self-care is selfless. The more we take care of ourselves, the more we can show up for those around us. I wanted this studio to be an invitation to slow down and be more intentional with life and yourself.
